My Story
Araceli Ramirez, LMFT: I am a Bilingual (Spanish/English) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I understand seeking help is hard, and beginning therapy and disclosing your most vulnerable feelings to a stranger is intimidating. In a collaborative approach, we will embark on a journey together where my goal is to provide you with a safe place of healing and hope. Creating a safe and warm environment to build our relationship based on trust, will allow us to achieve your goals to rebuild healthier relationships, and learn the skills to overcome future obstacles.
I am passionate about working with families, adolescents/children, couples, and individuals. I utilize different treatment modalities, including cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, and structural and strategic family models. When appropriate and accepted by the client, I incorporate the principles of faith with evidence-based practices (Strengthening Families) and therapeutic methods to help my clients learn the healing of the heart and improve their quality of life.
In working with the Latino community, I find it extraordinarily fulfilling to incorporate the beautiful Latino culture to enhance living enriching futures. In my career as a Spanish bilingual therapist, my experience has been working with families of heavily influenced Latino environments, cultures, and backgrounds. My expertise is working with individuals and families with depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues- infidelity, and talking about difficult taboo topics.
In more recent years, I have developed an unconditional love for horses. Animals that have personally helped me overcome fear, develop strength, and increase confidence. This process of using horses is an experiential model. Through the relationship with the horse, you are able to share your story and develop awareness and motivation to build healthy relationships.
My research through my doctoral work has incorporated business models and equine-assisted services to develop a social enterprise to increase access for Latinx and African American youth. I am aware that equine-assisted services are expensive services. If interested in learning more about equine-assisted services in a therapeutic setting and non-therapeutic setting please complete the contact form and I will get back to you for a consultation.
